The purpose of the foundation is to promote common sense in all areas of civic and economic life. This is achieved by strengthening personal responsibility, integrity, and foresight as the basis for pragmatic, solution-oriented, and ethically sound decisions in business, community, and social projects. The foundation's purpose is particularly (but not exclusively) realized through:
- The promotion and recognition of individuals, especially the support and mentoring of young talents and entrepreneurs who distinguish themselves through courage in taking personal responsibility and pragmatic problem-solving.
- The promotion and support of individuals, organizations, and projects in the social sector that aim at the practical application of civic reason and the strengthening of social cohesion, including the reintegration of the socially disadvantaged.
- The promotion and support of initiatives and projects to reduce unnecessary bureaucracy and to strengthen individual freedoms.
- The provision of capital for direct or indirect investment in companies (e.g., through impact investments) whose business models reflect the foundation's goals of pragmatism, freedom, and responsibility.
The foundation may extend its activities to other areas, provided they are in accordance with the aforementioned purpose. The foundation is non-profit; it does not pursue commercial purposes and does not aim to make a profit. Any ancillary activities it undertakes are exclusively to achieve the main purpose.
