The purpose and goal of the association is to promote biodynamic agriculture, which is based on anthroposophy, particularly in the lectures given by Rudolf Steiner in Koberwitz in 1924. Biodynamic agriculture is a global movement open to all people oriented towards freedom and human dignity. The association strives to achieve the goal mentioned in Article 2 by promoting and coordinating all initiatives of its members that serve the purpose of the association, including: a) education and training; b) as a provider of specialized training in biodynamic agriculture, it defines the tasks and framework conditions of specialized training in a performance mandate approved by the general assembly; c) issuing guidelines for cultivation; d) publishing research projects, specialized training, courses, practical experiences of farmers or peasants; e) research (practical experiences, trial installations, knowledge work); f) consulting for agriculture, horticulture, home gardens, fruit growing, forestry and landscape management, nutrition and preparation questions, quality assessments; g) knowledge transfer and exchange of experiences regarding the production and application of biodynamic preparations; h) specialist groups for seeds, compost economy, soil cultivation, animal husbandry, bee and insect breeding, nutrition, clothing, education, construction issues, equipment and machine technology; i) property, land law and financing issues; j) peasant culture, annual festivals, Christmas plays, events; k) tasks in the public sphere; l) relations with pedagogy and therapeutic institutions; m) the association works constructively with the Swiss Demeter Association and maintains good relations with the partner organizations Swiss Consumer Association and Interest Group Processing and Trade (IG V&H); n) taking over production companies and associated properties, as far as they serve the purpose of the association, in particular education, research, seed production, cultivation.
