The association's public interest purpose is to improve the situation of people with diabetes in the canton of Fribourg, in the sense of the International Diabetes Federation, and to promote, on a medical and scientific basis, the necessary measures for the prevention and early detection of diabetes. To this end, it provides, among other things, nursing and dietary education and outpatient care services necessary for people and children with diabetes, on medical prescription; instruction and sale of specialized equipment to meet the needs of patients within the framework of its purposes; implementation of measures to mitigate the personal, social and financial consequences caused by diabetes; organization of courses and all other preventive or health-promoting activities useful for the purpose pursued; information of the population, medical and nursing staff; acquisition of the necessary financial resources to cover its needs within the framework of its purposes.
