The foundation aims to promote the common good, both domestically and internationally, in the areas of social services, art, culture, and science, education, human and children's rights, homeland, nature, and animal protection, as well as development cooperation. It can support projects and organizations that advocate for disadvantaged people, enable or promote artistic and scientific creation, improve access to education, engage in the protection of human and children's rights, promote the protection and care of nature, animals, and cultural landscapes, and contribute to sustainable development in disadvantaged regions of the world. To achieve its purpose, the foundation can carry out its own projects or support third parties. To the extent that institutions based in Switzerland are financially supported, they must be tax-exempt. To the extent that institutions based abroad are financially supported, they must pursue a charitable or public purpose within the meaning of Swiss tax law. The foundation is authorized to conduct all transactions that serve to promote and implement the foundation's purpose. Within this framework, the disposal or encumbrance of the foundation's assets, impact investments in accordance with the applicable legal and supervisory regulations, as well as the non-commercial granting of loans and credits are also permitted. The foundation does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes, has a charitable character, and does not aim for profit. It is politically and denominationally neutral. The foundation can, in accordance with the applicable legal and supervisory regulations, take all permissible measures within the framework of its purpose, in particular establish or acquire other legal entities or trusts, regardless of whether they have legal personality, establish branches or agencies, merge with other foundations, take over the assets of other legal entities, cooperate with or manage other legal entities.
