1. The Foundation's purpose is to preserve and develop the Château de Vullierens with its built heritage, gardens, agricultural and viticultural domains, as well as its forests. Its mission is to ensure the long-term integrity of the Château and the entire Domain, and thus to protect its unique character. 2. Within the framework of its purpose and according to the priorities determined regularly by the Council, the Foundation must strive to support the following complementary missions: a. the preservation and development of the Château's gardens and their promotion in Switzerland and abroad, particularly through the enhancement of local botanical heritage, garden arts, and flower collections, including irises; b. the encouragement of initiatives on the Domain that contribute to the development of sustainable agriculture and viticulture, reconciling economic, social, and environmental impacts and challenges; c. the development of the Porte des Iris through the organization of high-quality events and manifestations that contribute to the economic, cultural, scientific, and intellectual radiance of the region, the Château, and the Domain; d. the development of cultural activities on the Domain, particularly around the visual arts and music, contributing to the promotion of Vullierens, as well as the maintenance and development of the sculpture park; e. the organization of educational projects, conferences, and other high-quality initiatives that bring the Spirit of Vullierens to life; f. the construction of new buildings or the renovation of existing buildings to the extent that they enable the development of the Domain and the achievement of the Foundation's fundamental purpose. 3. More generally, the Foundation may support any initiative that contributes to the opening and intellectual and cultural radiance of the Château de Vullierens and the Domain. 4. In pursuing its purposes, the Foundation will pay particular attention to: a. encouraging research on the Château, its history, and architecture; b. ensuring the conservation of furniture, paintings, and sculptures contained in the Château and its gardens; c. guaranteeing innovative garden management that preserves their architecture while ensuring their biodiversity and adaptability to climate change; d. protecting historic trees and maintaining the Allée cavalière; e. promoting public awareness of sculpture through various events and supporting young sculptors.
