The foundation's purpose is to promote education, research, and treatment in the field of orthopedic surgery, particularly through documentation and evaluation of treatment outcomes; to promote basic research related to the musculoskeletal system in the broadest sense; to support hospitals and clinics with orthopedic surgery departments, as well as other medical and social institutions dealing with musculoskeletal disorders and the treatment and rehabilitation of affected patients; to promote the establishment and operation of research institutes in the field of orthopedic surgery and related sciences through financial assistance; to promote and support everything mentioned in the preceding paragraphs regarding orthopedic surgery, also in relation to surgery and medicine in general, taking a holistic, comprehensive, and interdisciplinary approach; to be equally active in the fields of surgery and medicine in general; to provide support for education in orthopedic surgery and care for affected individuals in Switzerland and abroad. The foundation may collaborate with other foundations with similar goals in Switzerland and abroad, and support their work with financial contributions.
