To support medical research; to support in particular research into diseases affecting developing countries; to facilitate the availability of medical progress to populations in developing countries; to undertake communication and education efforts with the general public, both in developed and developing countries, in order to promote the foundation's goals; to promote the training of young people in research aimed at meeting the needs of populations in developing countries; to encourage industries in developed countries to take an interest in the medical problems of developing countries; to encourage the production of quality medicines in developing countries; to encourage cooperation between manufacturers and distributors of medicines within the same developing country, as well as between manufacturers and distributors in different developing countries.
