The Foundation's purpose, both in Switzerland and abroad, is to carry out any philanthropic activity, supporting private or public organizations and institutions or projects of general interest in the humanitarian, charitable, social, cultural and environmental fields, in particular in favor of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The foundation is non-profit and has no political or denominational character. The founder reserves the right to modify the purpose of the Foundation in accordance with Art. 86a CC. This modification may occur when at least ten (10) years have elapsed since the establishment of the Foundation or the last modification pronounced at the request of the founder. This right is inalienable and does not pass to the founder's heirs. The new purpose must remain a purpose of public service or public utility. The purpose of the Foundation may, at the request of the supreme body of the Foundation or the Supervisory Authority, be modified by the competent authority when the character or scope of the original purpose has varied to the point that the Foundation no longer clearly corresponds to the founder's intentions.
