To promote scientific and academic research in the field of theology, particularly concerning the biblical text and its adaptation to the evolution of modern languages in the main national languages of Switzerland (French, German, and Italian); to foster theological education, notably in the area of the acculturation of the biblical text, particularly by publishing works that are both scholarly and accessible to the general public; to support literacy programs among populations speaking so-called minority languages and to make the biblical text available to them. The foundation shall have no profit-making purpose. The Foundation is entitled to carry out all activities necessary to achieve its purpose. It may create other foundations or legal entities. It may acquire real estate, with the exception of residential real estate in Switzerland.
