The foundation's primary purpose is to manage the funds entrusted to it and use them to a) rehabilitate the surfaces used by Celtor SA (based in Tavannes) as a landfill in the course of its activities, in order to restore the soil to a state that meets the maximum aesthetic and ecological criteria, b) reforest the surfaces used by Celtor SA as a landfill in the course of its activities, in order to restore the land to meet current requirements, and c) monitor, maintain and control the remaining equipment and installations from Celtor SA's previous activities, in order to meet all safety and ecological criteria required by cantonal or federal legislation. The foundation has a public utility character and does not pursue any profit-making purpose.
