The political objectives of the Democratic People's Party are as follows: a) to seek political power for the purpose of promoting security, safety and well-being for all Nigerians; b) to promote political stability in Nigeria and foster national integration; c) to provide good governance and present a political management scheme that encourages probity and emphasizes participatory democracy; d) to guarantee human rights and fundamental freedoms to all citizens and persons resident in Nigeria; e) to support and nurture democratic ideals and traditions on a sustainable basis; f) to promote a political environment that leads to economic growth and national development through private initiative and free enterprise; g) to provide equal access opportunities for all citizens to the highest political, military, bureaucratic and judicial offices; h) to protect, defend and secure the interests of minorities.
