The association aims to promote and showcase contents, methods and solutions for the planning, execution and use of buildings that are oriented towards sustainability. The type of construction to be promoted should particularly create environmentally friendly, resource-saving living spaces that ensure the health, comfort and performance of users. The association promotes measures serving this purpose, in particular scientific research and teaching. It is not profit-oriented. The association realizes its purposes in particular through: a) Development of a certification system and introduction of a quality label, which certifies the compliance with sustainability criteria towards building owners and users; b) Organization and implementation of certification, awarding of certificates; c) Further development and implementation of sustainability criteria; d) Promotion of sustainable building through the presentation of positive impacts on climate protection, resource conservation, health, quality and efficiency enhancement, as well as economy and labor market. Publication of scientific-technical findings, practical experiences and realized and certified projects to the real estate industry and the public; e) Organization of qualification and further training measures serving the communication of the goals, contents and requirements for sustainable building; f) Promotion of the exchange of opinions and experiences among all construction professionals on sustainable building; g) Protection of the interests of members. The association fulfills its purposes primarily through the continuous definition, organization and implementation of certification, as well as through regular information events. The association is authorized to pursue the aforementioned purposes also through the involvement of sections or within the framework of cooperation with other corporations or state authorities. The association is authorized to conduct and execute all business necessary for the purpose of the association or to commission third parties with the execution. The association is neutral in terms of denomination, party and association politics.
