The foundation's purpose is: To promote and support the ballet of the Basel theaters, in particular through: Advertising for ballet events; Supporting the ballet management in realizing their plans; Promoting the Basel Ballet abroad by assisting in the organization of foreign tours; Fostering young talent. Expanding and enriching the performances of the Basel Ballet, in particular through: Engaging guest soloists and guest choreographers; Hosting special events. Improving contact between the ballet ensemble and the audience, in particular through: Periodic information about the Basel Ballet; Organizing contact meetings with representatives of the ballet management and the ballet ensemble; Providing insight into rehearsal work. Generally, to awaken interest in the art form of ballet among a wider audience.
