The purpose of the foundation is to provide contributions to the direct descendants of the late Dr. med. Heinrich Bircher and his wife Anna née Schatzmann, from Küttigen and Aarau, their widows and widowers, considering all eligible descendants up to the third degree. From the fourth degree onwards, only male descendants and their dependents from the male lines of the third degree are to be considered for contributions. The yields are to be used in particular for contributions to: medical care, doctor's bills, hospital and spa stays in cases of illness; household expenses when funds are scarce, especially in the event of illness or death of the breadwinner; education, study and professional training costs; dowries; recreational stays for all older beneficiaries, regardless of actual illness; granting a right of residence in the foundation's property, if necessary at favorable rental conditions, to beneficiaries, with older beneficiaries being given preference.
