The foundation has the following purpose: to promote and finance publications and research projects in the public interest, primarily on topics of urban development, spatial planning policy on the one hand, and the history of the labor movement and migration in the 20th and 21st centuries on the other; the foundation board may also allocate the foundation's funds to other publication and research projects of a political, cultural or humanitarian nature. The financing also includes the costs for printing, distribution and the compensation for the work of the editors. In accordance with the last will of the founder, the foundation realizes the following four publication projects: Publication project L'operaismo in Svizzera edited by Christian Marazzi, publication with possibly several volumes and DVD with a selection of the founder's texts (L'operaio multinazionale/Feltrinelli, Nuova Libera Stampa, La Sinistra, Area, Azione, micro MACRO, Officine FFS Bellinzona, UBS, Migrazione) and contributions from the editor and other persons of his choice. Publication project Le rôle central de l'immigration dans les luttes ouvrières à Genève et en Suisse romande au début des années septante (uisines, bâtiment et société), edited by Alda de Giorgi. Publication project Die andere Stadt, edited by Hans Widmer, with some texts by the founder on the metropolis of Zurich and other contributions written or selected by the editor. Publication project Il territorio deturpato del Mendrisiotto tra flussi sovranazionali e egoismi locali, edited by Roberto Stoppa. The publications will be distributed free of charge to libraries, schools and other interested public institutions; they will also be sold in bookstores. The house in Mendrisio will serve as a meeting place and gathering point in connection with the foundation's purpose and the supported projects, in collaboration with Roberto Stoppa, the co-owner of the adjacent Cantine. The maintenance costs will be borne by the foundation. The foundation board may sell the house as early as 2025 to use the proceeds for the aforementioned purposes. The foundation pursues non-profit purposes and does not aim to make a profit.
