The foundation aims to promote, support and finance the pedagogical ideas developed by Rudolf Steiner on a national level in Switzerland, exclusively for non-profit purposes. The foundation primarily supports schools and preschool institutions, as well as teacher training organizations that are members of the Association of Rudolf Steiner Schools in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, but also institutions that are directly connected to the school movement and whose intentions align with the aforementioned purposes. In this sense, the foundation mainly provides loans for the financing, debt restructuring and renovation of school properties (so-called 'Schaffhausen model'), as well as grants and donations for the financing of corresponding pedagogical projects. The foundation carries out or participates in strategically important development projects of the school movement, surveys and research projects, and compiles an annual statistic on the development of the school movement. It participates in publications or informs about important topics and maintains close cooperation with the board and the coordination office of the Association of Rudolf Steiner Schools in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
