The association aims to ensure its beneficiary members a dignified life and a dignified death, as well as to assist other individuals in enforcing this human right and to fight for its worldwide realization. The association pursues this purpose by, in particular, a) providing its beneficiary members with tailored assistance, adapted to the individual case, wherever their right to dignity, especially their human rights and fundamental freedoms, is considered threatened in life and death; b) representing the interests of its beneficiary members regarding the enforcement of their right to self-determination vis-à-vis the public and authorities in Switzerland and abroad; c) providing advice to anyone who contacts the association, within the scope of its possibilities; d) supporting legal proceedings in Switzerland and abroad, provided they serve to enforce human rights and fundamental freedoms, especially in life and death; e) promoting or supporting further efforts by third parties that, in the opinion of the association's organs, can serve to achieve the association's goals. With regard to the phase of their passing away, the association provides its beneficiary members with the following services, in particular: a) it provides them with a legally valid advance directive, which must be respected by doctors and hospitals, and to enforce which the association provides its beneficiary members with direct assistance from a lawyer, if necessary; and b) it provides them with a dignified assisted suicide through trained personnel, if the beneficiary member so requests, in order to put an end to unbearable suffering and meaningless prolongation of life. The association can support natural or legal persons to achieve these goals, participate in legal persons, or establish its own legal persons. The association itself does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes. If it establishes its own legal persons, these must not pursue any commercial purposes either.
