The association pursues, in particular, the following purposes:
1. **Promotion of research and knowledge transfer:** The association promotes top-level scientific research at the Swiss Campus for Healthy Longevity into the biology of aging, the extension of healthy life expectancy, as well as the prevention and early treatment of age-associated diseases. The association also supports the scientifically accompanied development, validation, and application of new measurement methods for capturing biological aging processes as the first change in disease development. It also investigates new treatment concepts that slow down the biological aging process and prevent or delay the development of diseases.
2. **Translation into clinical practice:** The association aims to promote the Swiss Campus for Healthy Longevity to make scientifically proven and safe measures for extending healthy life expectancy available to the Swiss population and internationally. In cooperation with the University of Basel and other national and international partners of the Swiss Campus for Healthy Longevity, the association promotes research and teaching, knowledge dissemination, as well as medical and public health services of the Campus in the field of healthy longevity.
3. **Contribution to public health (Public Health):** The association aims to promote programs through the Swiss Campus for Healthy Longevity that advance healthy longevity at the population level, particularly through prevention, dissemination, and implementation programs to strengthen health and physical, mental, and cognitive function. The goal is to empower people to slow down their own aging process and stay healthy and active for longer.
4. **Platform for national and international cooperation for the expansion of healthy longevity:** The association supports the Swiss Campus for Healthy Longevity as a neutral platform for societal cooperation on the topic of healthy longevity. This is in cooperation with other universities, research institutions, clinics, insurers, pension funds, banks, hospitals, general practitioners, and public authorities, as well as other suitable partners both nationally and internationally. The goal is to bring all partners together through the Campus to jointly develop the needs and opportunities of a modern aging population.
To achieve its purpose, the association can:
- Enter into cooperations with other legal or natural persons;
- Merge with other legal persons;
- Transfer the association's assets, earmarked, to another legal person;
- Coordinate initiatives, activities, and projects through suitable measures to achieve the association's goals.
The association can carry out all activities and take all necessary measures to achieve its purpose and goals. It can establish branches and representations both nationally and internationally.
