The foundation is non-profit and aims to enable the Natural History Museum to continue to be a research center in the fields of comparative anatomy and vertebrate paleontology. The distributions are intended to serve primarily the scientific exploitation of the materials accumulated in the museum (illustration, possibly also printing of publications). Secondly, they can be used for various special purposes within the foundation's purpose, such as travel allowances, excavations, acquisition of books, instruments, and study materials or assistance, but always prefer purposes for which sufficient funds are not available from other sources.
