Provision for those persons and their survivors who were employees of Alphen AG on or before December 31, 1993. The provision aims to protect the aforementioned beneficiaries against the economic consequences of old age, disability, death, and special hardship. The purpose of the foundation can be achieved at the discretion of the foundation board, in particular by providing additional, one-time or recurring benefits in cases where the regulatory benefits of the competent pension institution, together with those of the state social insurance, appear insufficient or, in the circumstances of the individual case, not appropriate for any reason. By decision of the foundation board, companies that are financially or economically closely linked to the founder can also be affiliated with the foundation, provided that the necessary funds are made available to the foundation and the rights of the existing beneficiaries are not impaired.
