The Association pursues the following objectives: 1) To ensure the governance and development of acrobatic dances and dance sports (DanceSport), namely: Acrobatic Rock'n'Roll, Acro Swing, DanceSport, Breaking/Breakdancing, Salsa, Boogie Woogie, Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa, European Programme, Latin American Programme, Biathlon, European Show Programme, Latin American Show Programme, Smooth, European Solo Programme, Latin American Solo Programme, Cheerleading, and other dance styles worldwide, either directly or through its members; 2) To promote and develop the practice of DanceSport, aiming to establish national federations in at least 50 countries across three continents within seven years to meet the recognition criteria of the International Olympic Committee (IOC); 3) To organize and supervise official international competitions and shows in these disciplines, including at least two major international competitions per year to establish an operational history. The Association does not pursue any economic purpose and does not aim at profit in a commercial form. It may generally carry out all activities likely to achieve the aforementioned objectives, provided that these activities are in accordance with its non-profit status. The Association is responsible for: 1) The registration of existing national federations that develop DanceSport; 2) Assisting in the establishment of national federations that develop DanceSport in countries where such organizations do not exist; 3) Organizing and administering international competitions and festivals for members; 4) Organizing and conducting training events for coaches and judges, as well as events aimed at improving their qualifications; 5) Organizing and conducting training events for athletes; 6) Promoting and encouraging participation in DanceSport in all member jurisdictions; 7) Combating doping and other drugs and methods harmful to health in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency, and anti-doping rules; 8) Coordinating the activities of the Association's member bodies, creating favorable conditions for uniting specialists in order to create professional unity, foster the exchange of experience, and accomplish the creative and scientific potential of the Association's member bodies; 9) Developing and promoting DanceSport clubs in Switzerland to meet Swiss Olympic criteria and demonstrate the spread of the sport at the national level. The association pursues its objectives internationally.
