The purpose of the WPC is to unite the global sanitation industry to protect the environment and the health of nations for the benefit of all. To achieve this purpose, the association carries out, among other things, the following activities: Developing and promoting the image and standards of the sanitation industry worldwide; Encouraging and facilitating the exchange of information, ideas, and technologies between sanitation industry organizations and their members worldwide; Promoting and providing assistance on training and continuing education topics in the sanitation industry, recognizing the need for adequate standards and their international recognition; Raising awareness of the role of the sanitation industry in protecting the environment through water supply and sanitation facilities through proper management, maintenance, reuse, and protection of natural resources; Providing and sharing information on research projects and technology related to the sanitation industry and the people it serves; Organizing a WPC conference at least every three years to ensure continuous growth and member development. No member of the association can be required to agree to a change in the purpose of the association. The association does not pursue any commercial or self-help purposes.
