The purpose of the foundation is to provide for the active employees and retired former employees of the company, as well as their dependents, against the economic consequences of old age, disability, and death, and to support the beneficiaries or their dependents in cases of need, such as illness, accident, disability, or unemployment. The foundation may also be joined by the personnel of companies economically or financially closely related to the company, provided that the necessary funds are made available to the foundation and the rights of the existing beneficiaries are not impaired, by means of a written accession agreement that must be notified to the supervisory authority. The foundation may also provide services to other tax-exempt employee benefit institutions that exist for the benefit of the beneficiaries in order to finance contributions and insurance premiums. The provision of pure employer contributions from the foundation's funds is only possible if corresponding contribution reserves have been accumulated and separately disclosed in advance (Art. 331 OR).
