The foundation aims to provide occupational pension benefits within the framework of the Federal Act on Occupational Pension Plans (BVG) and its implementing provisions for the employers and employees of the affiliated companies, as well as for their dependents and beneficiaries, against the economic consequences of old age, death, and disability. A company's affiliation is based on a written affiliation agreement, which must be notified to the supervisory authority. A company's affiliation is possible if it is financially and economically closely linked to the LAVEBA cooperative in St. Gallen. The foundation may provide additional benefits beyond the statutory minimum benefits. The foundation board issues generally applicable implementing provisions on organization, administration, financing, and partial liquidation, as well as benefits and control, in the form of one or more regulations. These can be amended by the foundation board while preserving the acquired rights of the beneficiaries. The regulations and their amendments must be submitted to the supervisory authority. To achieve its purpose, the foundation may conclude insurance contracts or enter into existing contracts, provided it is the policyholder and beneficiary.
